What is this workshop about?

This 2-hour intensive is designed for two people — perfect for friends, partners, or creative duos who want to explore printmaking together. Using everyday materials such as leaves, feathers, fabric, packaging, and other flat textured items, you’ll discover how to create bold and surprising prints side by side.

Do we need experience?

No experience at all! This workshop is ideal for beginners, or for anyone wanting to loosen up creatively and try something playful and hands-on.

What will we learn?

You’ll learn how to:

Ink and print directly from found objects

Experiment with layering textures

Mix unconventional materials with traditional printmaking methods

The emphasis is on creativity, collaboration, and fun — you’ll both get the chance to bounce ideas off each other while discovering sustainable ways of making art.

What materials are provided?

All inks, rollers, paper, and use of the press are supplied. You’re welcome to bring your own found objects too — anything flat with an interesting texture works beautifully.

At my studio in the Toi Pōneke Arts Centre, 61/69 Abel Smith Street, Te Aro, Wellington.

What will we take home?

You’ll both leave with a collection of unique experimental prints, as well as the know-how to keep creating with materials you can find in everyday life.
