FAQ: Found Object Printing Intensive — 2 Hours
What is this workshop about?
This 2-hour intensive explores the creative possibilities of printing with everyday objects. By using natural and recycled materials — leaves, feathers, fabric, packaging, and other flat textured items — you’ll discover how to create striking and unexpected prints.
Do I need experience?
No experience is required. This workshop is ideal for beginners or anyone looking to loosen up creatively and experiment with new approaches.
What will I learn?
You’ll learn how to ink and print directly from found objects, experiment with layering textures, and combine unconventional materials with traditional printmaking methods. The process encourages spontaneity, play, and exploration, while also highlighting sustainable ways of making art.
What materials are provided?
All inks, rollers, paper, and access to the press are included. You’re encouraged to bring your own found objects as well — anything flat with an interesting texture works beautifully.
Where is it held?
At my studio in the Toi Pōneke Arts Centre, 61/69 Abel Smith Street, Te Aro, Wellington.
Will I take something home?
Yes — you’ll leave with a unique collection of experimental prints, plus the knowledge to keep creating with materials you can find in your everyday environment.
